Need more towing power? Get a 2018 Ram 2500!

In recent months, the 2019 Ram 1500 has received a ton of press and positive feedback. One reason being it just went through a massive redesign for the 2019 model year that brought in more technology, style, and a new engine with eTorque technology.

With all the attention the 1500 gets it can be easy to forget about the other RAM pickups, which is why today we want to focus on the 2018 Ram 2500! Its engine performance is more robust than the Ram 1500's, so if you need to accomplish bigger jobs then you'll want to consider this 4-wheeled beast.

The Ram 2500 has three engines for shoppers to choose form.

  • The first is a 5.7L HEMI® V8 with 383 horsepower, 400 lb-ft torque, and 13,890 pounds of maximum towing. That's 1,140 pounds more than the biggest Ram 1500 engine with eTorque.
  • Next is the 6.4L HEMI® V8 with 410 horsepower, 429 lb-ft torque, and 16,320 pounds of towing. Oh, we should mention that the specs for horsepower and towing are Best-In-Class!
  • Last is the 6.7L Cummins® Turbo Diesel with 370 horsepower, 800 lb-ft torque, and 17,980 pounds for towing.

Whether you want to tow a huge camper, large commercial equipment, or boat, it's clear that the Ram 2500 has you covered.

Truck-Specific Features

If you've driven a Ram in the past then you know all about the legendary RamBox® cargo management system, but if you're new to the brand then allow us to get you up to speed. The RamBox® is an incorporated system on the side of the Ram 2500 (and other new Ram models) that makes it easier to store and organize your tools and gear. There's LED lights for nighttime assistance, locks for confidence, and if you want to go tailgating with the crew then you can fill the RamBox® with ice and easily drain it after the big game. It's one of the features that makes owning a Ram pickup so exciting!

Our Popular Trims

The Ram 2500 is available in many trims: Tradesman, SLT, Big Horn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Power Wagon, and Limited. We'll focus on the the most popular options at our dealership, and they happen to be the most affordable!

The Ram 2500 Tradesman: Looking for a jobsite truck? Then you'll love the Tradesman trim that keeps things simple and straightforward. It has a backup camera, heavy-duty vinyl seats for easy cleaning, and 3.5-inch driver information display digital cluster. It comes in a Regular Cab style that has an 8-foot truck bed, or there is a Crew Cab with either a 6.4- or 8-foot bed. The Crew Cabs get a little more cargo aid thanks to the in-floor rear cargo compartment and the under-seat storage compartment.

The Ram 2500 Big Horn: two up from the base trim, the Big Horn offers a little more in the way of aesthetics and features, while still maintaining an affordable price tag. This trim has the same Crew Cab dimensions as the Tradesman, and in lieu of the Regular Cab there is a Mega Cab with the 6.4-foot bed. Instead of vinyl seats there's premium cloth and you can power-adjust the driver's seat 10-ways and get 2-way lumbar support. We also love the option of being able to add on the Uconnect®4C system that comes with an 8.4-inch touchscreen and navigation. Outside there are larger 18-inch polished aluminum wheels and a chrome grille and bumper.

The standard engine on both trims is the 5.7L HEMI® V8, but you can get either of the bigger options as well.
